Fear and Loathing at Terry’s Taco Stand

The real Raoul Duke and Dr Gonzo – better known as the late Dr. Hunter S. Thompson and Oscar Zeta Acosta – seek out tacos and the American Dream. Thompson used this interesting sidebar to his legendary Las Vegas trip as the basis for the chapter “Breakdown on Paradise Boulevard” in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Featured in this recording are indie filmmaker Jim Jarmusch (Duke), late Canadian character actor Maury Chaykin (Gonzo), and actresses Glenne Headly and Laurie Metcalf as the taco stand waitresses.
